Privacy Notice

This notice describes what data DuPage County Released Inmates receives, how it is used, and when another party may receive it. Using the site means accepting these practices. Outside services apply their own privacy terms.

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other query entered in a search box is sent directly to the third-party provider that operates that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.

An email or contact-form message may contain a name, reply address, and the text supplied by the sender. That material is retained as needed to answer the message and is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Automatic Technical Data

Standard server, analytics, and advertising systems may receive technical information when a page loads.

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • Referring website, when available
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies help measure use and support site functions. A browser can reject or delete cookies, though some features or advertising choices may work differently afterward.

How Data Is Used

Collected data may be used to operate the site, keep pages responsive, send a search request to the selected provider, learn which DuPage release-record pages are useful, diagnose technical faults, prevent misuse, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.

Outside Websites and Advertising

Links lead to DuPage release records, Sheriff and corrections pages, Illinois government portals, federal systems, and independent search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices control.

Advertising partners may use their own cookies or similar tools to recognize activity across websites and select ads. That tracking occurs on the partner’s systems, not as a search-term log maintained by this site.

Parties Receiving Data

Personal data is not sold. It may be provided to search partners that process a query, analytics vendors that measure traffic, advertising networks that deliver ads, or law-enforcement and government bodies responding to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand.

Security Practices

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for data under this site’s control. No internet transmission, connected system, or storage method is completely secure. A breach-proof guarantee cannot be made.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by the site, request correction of inaccurate data, ask for deletion, or object to certain processing. Browser and device controls can also limit cookies and interest-based advertising.

Illinois public records held by a government office are governed by that office and laws such as the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. Requests to correct, seal, expunge, or obtain an agency record must go to the responsible government custodian.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as practices, services, or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted with its new effective date.
